| Description: | Our Client currently have a requirement for a Lead Piping / Mechanical Engineer to be based in Aberdeen. This is an ongoing contract position.
Accountability: Accountable to the Engineering Manager for ensuring that all Mechanical and Piping work is technically robust and delivered in a cost effective and timely manner.
Basic Functions:
The position will require the successful candidate to undertake the following roles & responsibilities:
Provide supervision, direction and support for all Mechanical/Piping discipline engineering personnel. Develop and maintain a Mechanical/Piping team structure to provide a scalable resource base to meet project demands across a range of platforms. Develop and maintain the Mechanical/Piping work plans as an integral element of overall project plans and ensure delivery against the plans. Provide first point consultancy to the team for pipe stress, materials and vessels and liaise with specialist consultants. Promote and develop new design technology solutions for the overall benefit of project delivery. Ensure that all Mechanical/Piping work complies with the management system and that technical integrity standards are maintained. Monitor Mechanical/Piping discipline performance and develop discipline business improvement plans. Skills/Qualifications Technical / Business Skills:
Able to work within budgets and prepare accurate cost estimates from client outline requirements. The candidate will also be expected to coach and develop younger engineers and draughtsmen. Design supervision / checking /authorising. Proven track record in design & commissioning of multidiscipline projects. Able to travel offshore to UKNS installations. |
